I was disappointed and depressed one day about some interpersonal relations type-things. I sat down at the keyboard and played out the first melody. I recorded it and told myself I'd finish it up. A month later while working on the album I rediscovered the melody and did just that. I don't usually sit down to play piano that much, but when I'm at my most unhappy it's nice to put the fingers to work and it's reassuring to remind myself that all the staring at piano keys I do when I program has actually translated to some little ability at it.
